CraftTin Walkerburn & Cardrona
We are delighted that with the support of SBC ‘Build Back a Better Borders Recovery Fund’ and in partnership with Mandy Durkin from Red Button Arts were are able to launch a new crafting project.

We have all been stuck in our homes for so long, we felt it would be important to run a class that will get people out and about again. Mandy has already been running a class in Innerleithen Parish Church, which (pre-pandemic) was thoroughly enjoyed, but we wanted to include other villages in the parish.
We have now raised enough funds to start classes in Walkerburn Village Hall and Cardrona Village Hall. The class at Walkerburn Village Hall will run after a Soup Lunch, so senior citizens will be able to have the whole afternoon out of the house.
The crafting classes will use different materials and try different techniques each time, but won’t be hard, so people don’t have to be ‘arty’ could have a go! Making tissue paper flowers, fabric covered books and decoupage trays are just some of the things the class will be doing. And after an hour of being creative, tea and cake will be provided for the thirsty workers! The classes will start in September, and we look forward to welcoming anyone who fancies having a go!
