Over the summer several events are being organised to mark the 150th birthday celebrations for our Innerleithen Church building
The old church had its closing service on 11th August 1867 so on Friday 11th August 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start we will have a short act of worship near the site of the old parish church in the graveyard on Leithen road. We will then walk down to the ‘new’ church (which held its first service on 18th August 1867) for a prayer, a cup of tea and a piece of birthday cake
On Sunday 13th – our morning worship will use material from the closing and opening sermons preached in the two church buildings in 1867
On Sunday 20th we will have a songs of praise reflecting the changes in church music traditions and songs over the last 150 years.
Lookout for other events and more details nearer the time.
